Itaconix PLC (AIM:ITX, OTCQB:ITXXF), a company known for developing plant-based materials, has launched a new initiative called the SPARX programme.

The goal is to speed up the development of safer, eco-friendly home and personal care products. This comes as more consumers demand products that are better for the environment and perform well at an affordable price.

The SPARX initiative brings together Itaconix, other ingredient suppliers, and manufacturers to create products using fewer chemicals and less plastic, while still maintaining high performance. Itaconix aims to help companies launch at least 10 new products by 2025.

Its plans will be officially unveiled at the SEPAWA Congress in Berlin, an important event for the European and North American home cleaning industries. The company plans to announce several collaborations with key partners in the coming months.

"We believe that high-performance consumer products can exist in harmony with nature, safeguarding both human health and the environment," said CEO John Shaw.

"Our vision is to build a high-margin, capital-efficient specialty ingredients business that enables brands to create new generations of safer, better-performing, and more sustainable consumer products.

"Our success with formulated solutions attracted desires from other high-value ingredient suppliers, leading contract manufacturers, and purpose-driven brands for more collaborative and comprehensive efforts on new consumer products.

"SPARX is a natural extension of our mission - bringing together brands, manufacturers, and our expertise to accelerate innovation and drive progress towards a future where sustainable products are the norm."
